Throwback Thursday – 2009: Catholic University of America and K of C
The Knights of Columbus and the Catholic University of America have a long and strong relationship. In 1904 the Knights endowed a faculty chair in American History at CUA. The $50,000 fund is valued at more than $1.4 million in today’s dollars. Ten years ago the Knights’ Board of Directors were on campus for a quarterly meeting. There they saw the oversize replica of the 1904 check in McGivney Hall, a building named in honor of the Knights of Columbus’ founder, Venerable Michael McGivney.
