It is with the deepest sentiments of esteem and gratitude that we gather together for the 125th annual meeting of the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus. This anniversary year is a time of jubilation for the countless accomplishments the Knights of Columbus have provided for our Church, our country, and our world.
As we celebrate this milestone we are mindful that our founder, Servant of God Father Michael McGivney, began the Order with a vision. This vision was to provide spiritual and financial support to those most in need. Today there are more than 1.7 million members who carry out the vision of Father McGivney. It is a mission that is at the heart of every Christian person, but it is particularly compelling for ourselves as Knights of Columbus, given the momentum we have inherited.
Father Michael J. McGivney has endowed us with a solid foundation, and in the past 125 years it has been developed exponentially through the wonders of God’s grace and hard work.
With our ‘Yes’ we carry the work forward with God’s blessings for centuries to come. We are the witnesses of today who must respond in the affirmative as we work together to provide relief for those currently afflicted by the difficulties of life.
Be assured of my grateful best wishes and continued prayers for you and all your families this Year of Jubilee.
Vivat Jesus!
