current one on the Swiss Guard. |
The Knights of Columbus Museum in New Haven is showing two world-class exhibits this year. One celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Swiss Guard and includes material originally on display in Rome for the anniversary celebration there.
This summer, the museum is also featuring a wonderful exhibit entitled “Joan of Arc: Medieval Maiden to Modern Saint.” The Knights of Columbus sponsored a related exhibit at the prestigious Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., last fall.
Once again this year, we will present our “Christmas in Miniature Series” during Advent. It will once again feature Christmas crèches from Italy, a tradition that has become one of our most popular shows, and is one more way in which we “Keep Christ in Christmas.”
Last October, we dedicated a new museum gallery named in honor of Former Deputy Supreme Knight Jean B. Migneault, in recognition of his long and exemplary service to the Order.
Last June, during the annual meeting of state deputies, we opened our new States Gallery featuring historic items from our state jurisdictions. We also opened a second gallery built to resemble a 19th-century council chamber.
