Dear Brother Knights:
This year we gather in historic Québec City for the 126th annual meeting of the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus. It is always an exhilarating experience to witness our founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity exercised in such a profound way.
The picturesque landscape of Québec provides an inspirational backdrop as we evaluate our current programs and consider future initiatives enhancing the largest Catholic lay organization in the world. The 1.7 million Knights exemplify humanity at its finest as expanding services are provided to our Church, our country, and our world. The Order provides extensive opportunities for its members to integrate action with their Catholic faith.
The Venerable Servant of God Father Michael J. McGivney attended Saint Hyacinthe Seminary, connecting the setting of this year's convention with an integral part of our founder's life and priestly formation. We continue to pray for Father McGivney's beatification as he continues to inspire us in the challenges of our times.
May God's blessing come upon this annual meeting so that it will bear fruit in our local councils now and for all the years ahead. Be assured of my continued prayers and best wishes for you and all your families. Vivat Jesus!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell
Archbishop of Hartford
Vivat Jesus!
