St. Odilia Council 6933 in Tucson hosted an emergency food drive to help restock Interfaith Community Services (ICS). Knights delivered four truckloads and one trailer full of food to ICS, estimated to be worth about $5,000.

Padre Francisco Garces Council 9378 in Yuma has been offering free spaghetti dinners since May 19. More than 350 people have benefited from the events, including some who have found their way back to the Church.

Deacon Raphael "Ray" Longpre Council 10441 in Tucson held a dinner and raffle fundraiser for the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. More than 140 people attended the event, during which the council presented the sisters with $3,507 to help repair the roof of their monastery.

St. Patrick Council 12449 in Scottsdale collected more than 6 tons of food and $2,060 in cash donations during its quarterly food drive to benefit the Paz de Cristo Outreach Center. Since 2008, the council has collected more than 40 tons of food and $10,000.

Carson Knox, the son of council member Aaron Knox, flies his kite high over the community at a kite flying event sponsored by St. Mark Council 1498 in Highlands Ranch. More than 50 families attended the event, all of whom also received a free lunch.

Rev. Robert F. Houlihan Council 10937 in Highlands Ranch collects trash and debris from an adopted portion of highway twice each year. The council also held a family hike, June 20, at Roxbury park for Knights and their families. Finally, Council 10937 sponsored a Father’s Day outing to see a Colorado Rockies baseball game with three area councils. More than 130 Knights and their families attended the game.

Members of St. Joan of Arc Council 12392 in Arvada gather regularly at the Mary, Maternity of Motherhood pregnancy resource center to clean the grounds and perform yard work. Knights and their families also volunteer at the Broadway Assistance Center to feed the homeless and needy.

John F. Kennedy Assembly in Butte provided an honor guard for the Special Olympics state games, May 13, at Montana State University. Nearly 1,000 athletes participated in the games, and Knights from throughout the state served as volunteers.

Knights from throughout the state marched in the opening ceremony for the 2009 Special Olympics Summer Games, held at Brigham Young University. Father Escalante Assembly in Provo has provided an honor guard for the games since 2003.
